Title: Bitmappy font on new 15" Macbook Pro [solved]
Post by: fransg on January 07, 2015, 03:09:55 pm
Today I got a new macbook and almost all is well, like having MC20 use the optical output to the DAC.

The fonts look bitmappy though, as if typed on an eighties dot matrix printer with fading ribbon.

Has anyone else seen / solved this yet?

Try a search for "retina" here.  I believe it's a setting.

Thank you for your suggestion.

The 'noire" skin still has the ragged / bitmappy font.

Did you find the retina setting?

No I did not! I understood your suggestion to mean I should search this forum for "retina" and that way I came across a tip that said that I should use the "noire" skin for retina, but with that skin the font issue still persists.

I will look in the menus for a setting about 'retina' -- any tips where? Not in "view".

Thanks for your help.

I'm sorry but I don't have a Mac here right now.  Try searching again.

You can enable Retina mode in the menu under "View -> Size -> Retina Mode"
Using that should give very smooth font rendering.

Excellent!!

Thank you. I had repeatedly gone over every menu and sub-menu option that I thought could be relevant but missed this one.

Works beautifully!
