Title: Problems with cutout/skipping - Mac Mini
Post by: GordonM on January 10, 2015, 05:42:40 am
Hello all, I am new to HD music and use of a DAC with my music system. I have high quality DAC with high spec. late model Mac Mini running current Apple software.  Have found across a range of HD player software that after playing several songs continuously the player starts skipping and then cuts out. If I close the software etc the player will then operate normally for a period until the same issue occurs. I have had this problem with several software products (settled on JRiver as it cuts out less and is most user friendly). Running just iTunes  through the DAC (not HD) the problem does not present suggesting a software glitch or setting somewhere in the system.  I am aware of the usual issues affecting the Mac processor that might affect skipping however what is confusing is what appears to be cumulative effect that I am experiencing

Any suggestions out there.

Regards

Hi there,

Do you get the same effect using iTunes on the Mini and are you using USB or the headphone output to Toslink into your DAC?

Tim.
