Hi, even if I use gapless playback option there must still be a single frame of absolute silence between the songs. This makes my DAC enter standby and resume operation, and this takes like half second, so that a gap in playback is heard.
This is similar to an issue we had before where the option play silence at startup for hardware sync was not actually syncing the hardware, and it was fixed by adding some low level noise.
If not possible to bridge the gap perfectly, maybe MC could play some inaudible noise so that the DAC does not skip?

are you sure you can't set the dac to accommodate this?

There is no such option in the DAC. And from the other bug that was solved (initial silence for hardware lock), there were several DACs with this problem (standby when mute).
-
Anyone? ?

Gapless is perfectly gapless. I promise.
The only time there'd be a pause is if the outboard format changes (like during a sample rate change).

Matt, still the DAC unlocks and locks again with sequential tracks from the same album (16/44 regular resolution).
I also use remove silence from beginning and end, so assuming gapless works perfectly as you said, even if perfect silence is present in the track itself, the remove silence should "bridge" the tracks so that no silence is output, no?

That's really strange. It just shouldn't happen!
Double-check all the between tracks audio options.
