Hi All
I'm new to JRiver. I'm using it mainly for music and vids. I use Windows Media Centre still for TV and all our pictures.
Thing is after the JRiver install all of my pictures have disapeared from Windows Media Centre. I've tried doing a new install of JRiver and have made sure that only Audio and Video files are imported but still there's no images in Windows Media Centre.
What do I need to do?
Kind regards, Andrew

That's a Windows Media Centre problem, and I don't think we'll have any idea.

Do you see the images using JRiver?
Can you find the image files with Windows Explorer?
- I'm trying to determine if/where the images are on your computer. If you can find them, I'm sure we can get you setup as you'd like.

Hi - have sorted it - just set JRiver not to auto-import anything from my MyPictures
-
Glad you got it sorted out. It's still somewhat confusing as to what happened. When JRiver imports it doesn't actually move or change anything, it just reads the file properties and adds the location and properties to its Library. So it should not have changed anything with regards to whatever WMC is doing.

Just in case any one else has this problem in the future, I have always solved this by installing the following reg file and rebooting.

Somehow this info either gets lost or is replaced when I install MC and pictures don't show up in 7MC.
Simon.

I see what your talking about now. JRiver does change some File Associations in the registry. I thought it might only make the change if you have the "file Association box" checked in the MC Settings, but I unchecked some and restarted the computer and the registry associations did not revert back to the original config. For me this is not an issue since I don't use WMC, but I see how this could be a concern to some.

although I have fixed my images I still have a problem.
I have recorded TV files that were recorded with Windows Media Centre (.wtv files) . Since I installed JRiver they all have JRiver associated with them and are not showing up in Windows Media Centre.
Any idea what I need to do to fix this?

change file association back to wmc

Just curious - why are you using WMC when you have JRiver MC available?

Music and Vids in JRiver is amazing. I'd love to use JRiver for everything but the TV section is full of bugs so I gave up with it

Have you tried TV lately. There have been a lot of improvements. It works great for me (with an internal Hauppauge 2250 and a 950Q USB stick). I now get my EPG data from Zap2it rather than using the OTA and I get all the correct season and episode numbers now and the metadata looks good.

okay - I'll give it a go when I have a spare minute

I use both - JRiver MC does not support encrypted channels, so you have to use WMC for those. As opposed to having TV/DVR viewing split between two programs, it is simpler to use WMC for DVR/TV and MC for movies/archived non-encrypted shows.
