Title: illegal operation

Just purchased MJ. Recorded a cassett it plays ok but when I try to convert the format to Lame MP3 I get the error "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down". details say invalid page falt in module LAME_ Inc.dill etc.  When this happens I must power computer off since windows wont shut down.  Help

Which version of MJ?

If I understand you correctly, you're trying to convert a wav file to an MP3 file.  If it isn't working, try reinstalling the encoder plugin from our web page.  Make sure you don't install a version 7 encoder with version 8 of MJ or vice versa.
