Title: Can I remove cover art from inside files only?
Post by: Mastiff on October 08, 2003, 04:08:37 am
My habit of having cover art inside the files has sort of blown up in my face - I recon I use several gigabytes extra in my +30K collection for that, and there really is no good reason to do it. So I want to keep it in the cover art directory only. Is there another way to clean it from the files than to remove cover art from everything and then do a new search for cover art? I can do that, of course, but if there's a cleaner way I'd love to hear about it.  8)

turn off the option to store inside.

update media file using the option update tags from database (or something that sounds like that)

at least it worked before

All you need to do is highlight the files with cover art in MC and untick store in tag.

MC automatically puts the cover art in the cover art directory and links the file to it.

I have the same  issue as Mastiff.  Is there any easy way to store the cover art (previously inside file) in the album folder as folder.jpg?  Can one of your plug ins do that King?

what ever coverart finder finds it will store folder.jpg if you turn that option on.

So there's no way to convert art that already exists insided a file to folder.jpg?

well if you have cover art in the default folder i am not sure if my program will move it to \album\folder.jpg folder or not.

I just don't remember but it may. if it does not i can make it do so.

i am not sure if i can get it to go directly from the media file direct to the album folder or not but i can check into it. i am not sure if the SDK will allow me to do that.

ok I added

An Option if cover art found in the Default folder that it would also copy that art to the Media File Folder if the option is checked on the setup page.

Will do but it'll be a while as I'm on dial-up and have 23K files to sort out.  Thanks again.
