Title: [Solved] Can't send out multichannel sound with nVidia GTX570
Post by: fitbrit on February 06, 2015, 11:04:21 pm
I know the GTX570 does not bitstream multichannel lossless to an AVR. However, it should still support LPCM up to 7.1 channels and Windows playback device seems to support this when connected to my AVR. Unfortunately, MC will not send out anything more than 2 channel with this video card.
The previous video card, also nVidia, was a GTX560Ti. It was able to send multichannel audio out to my AVR.
Any clues as what might be the problem?

Oops, I thought this was posted in the MC20 forum.
Note that this is unrelated to the bitstreaming issue I am having as detailed in a different thread (different PC).

This was a stupid one. I think MC was running as I installed the latest drivers for this card. I just discovered that my AVR was not the chosen audio device in MC and therefore its capabilities were not being read in MC. Somehow during the driver installation or other phase in the upgrade, the audio device in MC got changed.
