Title: How to convert to 16 bit 48khz
Post by: cupboy on February 09, 2015, 03:32:24 pm
How would I convert a FLAC file to 16 bit 48khz. I see where I can set the bit rate to 16 but I don't see where to set the frequency.

When you select the conversion do
Options->Audio->Apply DSP.
in the DSP set the output format to 48k

I tried that but the Marantz still claims unsupported. How can I verify that the files are indeed 16 bit and 48 khz?

update: I figured this out myself, but it stills says the files are 96000 HZ, so my DSP setting is not working.

update 2: Nevermind. I got it figured out now.

Could you explain what you're up to?

Because this:

Makes me think you're pre-converting files so that MC can play them to your Marantz.  But this isn't needed, because the Media Network or Playback engines can do this for you on the fly, if needed.

Of course, if you intend to give the FLAC files to the Marantz directly (such as on a USB stick) then that's something else.  Even then, though, you might be delighted to learn about MC's handheld conversion support, if you don't know about it already.

So.... What's up?
