Title: MC 20, ARC CD9, and DSD
Post by: jd002200 on February 09, 2015, 09:36:19 pm
I'm running MC 20 for PC into an ARC CD9 CD player/DAC via USB. I just bought my first DSD album and was expecting to use DoP streaming since the ARC does not play DSD. The DSD files play on the CD9, but it doesn't matter whether I have DoP checked or unchecked in the 'Device control panel' in MC 20. Is it using DoP anyway, or is it possible the CD9 does play DSD files? Any ideas. I thought I'd try this forum before contacting ARC. Thanks.

Jim

I'm not sure I understood your question, anyway, AFAIK the CD-9 doesn't works with DSD, so, to play your DSD album, the files were converted in PCM on-the-fly by JR, so the DoP setting should be insignificant, as you are not streaming DSD to the DAC, either native or DoP.
