Title: MC not picking up all my artwork

I have an issue and I was wondering if anyone else is seeing it.

I have my library in the following structure:

<Artist>\<Album>\<TrackNo> - <TrackName>

And in each <Album> folder I have:

00 - Playlist.m3u
folder.jpg



When viewing my library with the list style "Album Thumbnails" I have noticed that some of my albums do not show artwork, even though the folder contains folder.jpg.

When I change the list style to "Details" and move the mouse over the individual tracks of those albums which do not show artwork I actually see the artwork appear in the popup in all tracks except track one.


I have checked the tags (e.g. for spaces at the end) and they seem to be ok but it's very strange how it is consistantly track one that does not show the artwork ... so I am suggesting it's a bug.


Is anyone else experiencing this?

I've noticed this, too.  I've seen something similar in IE.  Not sure what the answer is.

What makes you think it's an OS issue?

AlbumView (which uses the OS IPicture interface), Paint Shop Pro, Windows XP's Preview program, Windows Explorer in Thumbnails view and Internet Explorer can all display the graphics fine.

Plus the fact that MC can view the artwork in details view (albeit track one doesn't) tends to lean towards a bug in MC.

I've seen it not make a thumbnail for an item, but then if I leave the view and come back it's there.

My best guess is that two things are trying to load the image at once. (thumbnail thread and image playback for example)  Next build won't lock JPG's while loading them.

Could that explain this one?  Thanks.

(p.s. I never understood your album sorting report, and then you stopped reporting it -- if it's still there, please start a thread about it)

Hi Matt,

I don't think it's a multiple access issue as it's consistently the first track and pressing F5 (which I presume refreshes everything) didn't show the image.

But I'll wait for the next version to give it a try.

Also I'll check out the sorting issue in a mo and start a thread if the bug is still there.
