I was experiencing JRiver MC20 soft hanging at times and then come back to life and thought it was Avast and / or Malwarebytes within Windows 8.1 Pro. Anyway, I had a trial version of MacDrive Pro all along. I then purchased the program, and holy smokes, no more soft hanging!!! Sometimes it can just be trial ware.
