MC 20 will play recorded video, but when I try to have it play live TV, I get a black screen, then "Something went wrong with playback. Details: Failed to render audio stream. Unspecified error." I am able to receive the TV signal using the Hauppage WinTV software, but MC20 seems to have trouble with the Hauppage card, although it was able to recognize which channels are available on the cable. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the log. I am still sifting through the file. In the mean time, can you provide the following:
Tools > Options > Television > Advanced > Copy television related filter info to clipboard
and share the info with me. Thanks.

What is the model number of your Hauppauge tuner? For example, WinTV PVR 150? 250? 350? or something else?
-
It is a WinTV PVR 350.

Thanks.

Try this DLL:

Please install MC20.0.70 first, to ensure compatibility. Then download, unzip, and copy JRTelevision.dll into MC installation folder.

It works! Thank you very much!

Great! Thanks for helping.

...but then I rebooted. :( My Television settings disappeared; MC wanted me to double-click to set up the TV again. The only service type / tuner type under which my Hauppage card shows up is digital cable / set-top box. But if I choose that option, it won't let me proceed without configuring an IR blaster, which I don't have and shouldn't need. I had similar problems the first time but I can't figure out how I got past them. Can you help me again?
Thanks!

?
All of that should not have happened. I wonder what made your settings disappear. Are you using portable install? Did you ever get a set of channels before rebooting? If you did not scan for channels, you would be asked to run Setup. But you had some channels, and they disappeared, that is just strange.
Your WinTV PVR PCI device should appear under Aanalog Cable > Analog Cable. It should also appear in Antenna (over the air) > Analog Antenna if your country is not USA nor Canada.

:-[ OK, this last one was probably my fault. I went through the setup again more carefully, using the analog cable option, and now it works. Thank you very much for your help!
