I was streaming some music last nite thru MC9.0. Those streamed mp3 files are still in "unassigned" and can be played, however I can't seem to find where they are residing on my computer as I'd like to save some of them to my media library. Are they "re-streaming" when I click on a song to play it? I'm not showing an internet connect in the task bar. Or does MC temporarily store them in some secret folder that I can't seem to find?

try this:
1- In MC select the file(s)
2- right-click
3- select Locate
4- in the locate menu select "On Disk"
(select either 'within MC' or 'External')
file has been located <crossing fingers>

Thanks Lisa, I tried that and it works properly for files I've imported from the media drive, but when I try "Locate > External", for these previously streamed files, I get C:\ Program Files\J River\Data\Thumbnails. I've looked in that folder and it only contains thumbnails for album art.
"Locate > Within MC" only moves the "tree" from the top (unassigned) to the bottom with focussing on anything.
I've also tried task manager while playing these songs in MC and it just shows MC running and interract running but nothing else, so I don't think the songs are reconnecting to the streaming site.
I also tried the windows search and came up with nothing for these songs.
I tagged the songs in MC properties successfully and the songs are listed in the library just like anything else and still play ok.

OK, not as simple as I had hoped. :-/
Out of curiousity, if you look at the filename field within the Media Library window, wat does it show for file location?

MC doesn't cache streams.
We read streams using wininet (Windows internet layer), and it's possible it's caching. (although we tell it not too)
