Title: Trial Version Question
Post by: dirtrat on February 16, 2015, 05:04:52 pm
I have version 19 and downloaded version 20 for my MAC. I used the RIP CD feature and ripped the CD in the .aiff version and noticed it would only allow me to rip at 16/44. I understand that Redbook is limited to this but other CD rippers allow you other choices. Is this limitation just for the Trial version or the purchased full version also?

Could it be because that is the max the CD has to offer?

If other CD rippers are giving you any higher options, they are upsampling when they rip.  All ordinary CD's are 16/44.1.

I understand everything you are saying however I still don't have an answer to my question.

If you want to upsample, do it at playback time.  MC is a GREAT upsampler.

You want to leave the CD files at 44,100 (and preferably stored with lossless storage).
