Look at the three buttons in the right of the player display area.  The middle one is the shuffle button which ensures that tracks added to playing now are shuffled.  Click it!

JLee, You saved my day (actualy it is night here in The Netherlands)! Shuffle was "on". I turned it off and now it works as expected again.
