Title: Adding H.264-stream
Post by: sejethomas on February 22, 2015, 11:59:29 am
Hi!

I am trying to figure out how i can stream channels from Danmarks Radio (The danish equivalent of BBC). It would be awesome if I could add the streams under Television, but just being able to see them would be nice. The streams are H.264 and here is example of one of the links:
rtsp://rtsplive.dr.dk:80/livestream12.sdp
I am a bit uncertain whether is it possible for residents outside of Denmark to open stream.

Any ideas of how I could make this happen?

I probably don't fully understand but if you're trying to stream Danish TV video from outside of Denmark then it's probably geo-blocked.

If that's the case it's not an issue for MC. You'll need to bounce off a proxy in-country or use a vpn with a Danish presence.

I can't open that RTSP stream in VLC.  I get a server connection error.  So, it looks like in the US at least, it is blocked.

I'm not sure if MC can handle RTSP live streams currently or not.  I know in the past it could not, but I haven't tried in a very long time. I have one at work I can test with tomorrow though, if you'd like.

But, first, test with VLC to see if you can even open it, or if this won't work no matter what you do.

No, it can't. At least not on my side.

I asked around on a few other sites and to my surprise is the link (which I found on the official site) dead.
They have apparently changed it to a http stream:

I have tried opening the stream by making it a playlist, but it won't play for more than 10 seconds.

I have played with jriver and adding the stream for some time now, but I can't get it to work. When I open the URL jriver just seems to split it up into 3 small video files that only last 10 seconds each. Any ideas?

EDIT: Btw. it works fine i VLC.
