Title: Gizmo plays some FLAC files, but not all?? Reinstall of Gizmo=FIXED
Post by: toomanybarts on March 01, 2015, 02:07:04 pm
If I select a FLAC only playlist with Gizmo, it will play a 1 sec or so of certain tracks then jump to the next until it reaches certain tracks which it will play?
mp3 files play just fine.

JRemote on my ipad plays ALL tracks with no problem.
I am using MC20 on PC with XP
Galaxy Note 3 with latest version of Gizmo.

Anyone have any ideas?
I have the log in a zip file ready to send to an admin if they are willing to help?
(I fully expect this to be user error and a settings issue, but I am at a loss as to what to change?)

What version of MC are you using?

Do you use CUE files?

Are you playing the files locally (on the phone)?  Or on the server.

Hi Jim,

MC20.0.63
Not using Cue Files
I'm playing via a Smartlist with 5 star rated FLAC files
I'm trying to play locally on phone ("Here")
If I change to playing on "Player" (which is what I think you mean when you say 'server') then all tracks play no problem
(I've also tried using wifi on local network and switching wifi off on phone and essentially accessing 'remotely' and its the same behaviour).

Hello
Could check Audio codec  and processor specs. Aka container bit depth bit rate max sample rate.
Hope some Galaxy Note 3 users comes along.
Can't check tonight but I think you get options on DNLA  settings : no converting audio/video while playback on phones Wifi and/or Phone Network . Throwing small ideas here to find the stuttering  ;)

Where would I find those options?  I've tried a lot of different settings but to no avail?
Whats weird is that it starts to play each track but then crashes out and moves on to the next one until it reaches a certain FLAC file?

Hello
This is a bit unchartered waters for me (Windows Phone user, no clue about Gizmo, no clue about Galaxy Note 3).
Anyway try this just to by pass any pre-processing by JRiver.

Below, just click on "Don't convert Audio" and check.

Otherwise
a)  if some Android app. such as "Media Hub" exists, try to connect to your generic Windows DLNA : you could also by-pass JRiver + Gizmo to check if your FLAC files are readable on Note 3,
b) do a search withe Note 3/Note III on this board for similar situation.

Edit : I guess "if necessary" depends on which type of Ip connected or speed detected with the device = downgrading quality, but I don't use much my Phone on 3G/4G with JRiver

I will try when I get home.

Just tried playing from JRemote on ipad at work connecting to the MC 20 server at home and it plays FLAC no problem.
Also, MC20 on work PC at work as a client plays all FLAC no problem from the MC20 server at home.

Wondering if this is a Galaxy Note setting I need to change?

Try playing the files with the default player on the phone.  Transfer manually.

SOLVED.

I deleted and reinstalled the app and all now play fine - sorry I should have tried that first.
(I've been living with this problem for months only playing mp3s!!)

Thank-you all for your help and attention.
