There's been one thing that's been annoying me for a while in MC9. I thought it must have been a fairly obvious bug, but it still there so perhaps it's a feature.
I used to be a able to drag a whole album and drop under another artist so that the artist tags would update themselves and the album would appear under the new artist name.
This was particularly useful if I ripped/imported an album but the Artist name was slightly different from the one I'd been using in MC.
I know it's not a big problem, but does anyone know why this happens (or doesn't anymore)?

has anyone got any ideas about this?

Please explain the drag and drop you are talking about? From where to where? Are you talking about tagging mode?
-
Are you talking about having the tree so that you can expand it and drag the files to the particular folder in the tree to rename it?
-
I know it worked one time via the tree method for me once.
To make the tree, right-click on the view scheme (artist/album;whatever) and select 'edit view scheme'. From there, make sure 'Populate Tree' is checked. Then try moving things around.
I never tried it from the Pane side in MC but I'm sure it should work or at least suppose to work too.

The main view scheme I use is simply Artist/Album.
If on the tree, I dragged an album (ie the icon showing a disc) into another artist (ie the icon showing a little man), all the artist details for that album would be updated, and the album would appear on the tree under the new artist.

You have two choices...easiest use the panes and just selct the files in the bottom pane and drag to the new artist. Slightly harder method but better if you prefer the tree, edit the view schme to populate the tree then do as you did before...
Hope this helps,
Adam

Drag-n-drop in the tree is fully supported, and is working for me.
Any more details?
