The use case is synching library with Sony ZX2 handheld which has two storages: main and SD card and at any given time handheld can be connected with only one storage to PC (selectable on device). Maybe it's typical for other devices like Astell&Kern or just Android devices, I just don't know.
In this case there is a set of songs etc which needs to be synched, but split onto two parts as the main storage fills in. Something like this:
* be able to set primary path and secondary path
* be able to set minimum free space M on primary path (to not fill all the remaining space)
* if primary storage is connected, fill it up until M mb is left on device and store synched states somewhere
* if secondary storage is connected, fill up with songs not synched to primary storage
I've heard that there are devices with main storage and 2 SD cards though, but this schema could be extended for them as well.
