Title: Importing .mpl Playlist made in another library
Post by: amargolis on March 02, 2015, 08:15:15 pm
I have a few playlists that I made in one library and I'd love to import those playlists into another library. The 2nd library has the same content but the file paths are very different.

I tried the "import playlist" function, it reports that it has successfully imported the playlist but there are no tracks in the list.

Am i missing something or is this function just not designed to work this way? I would be surprised if I could just import a playlist from a different library and have it sync up to a differnt database, but thought I'd ask before I go rebuild them track by track.

Thanks!

Importing mpl works on the filename as the key... if the file does not exist at the location in filename, nothing is imported...  You would find a way to replace the filenames in the import file to match the locations in your library BEFORE importing the mpl file.  Maybe as simple as a global replace in an editor...?

Ok that's what I thought, but figured I'd ask you guys just in case. Thanks for your response!
