currently JRiver can play multichannel flacs but not WAV files. When I master in surround I can export an interleaved multichannel ("riff") file from my sequoia daw but it does not have the ability to export or read a multichannel FLAC. So I found a standalone utility that can read these wavs and convert them to FLAC to be played in JRiver. It would be so nice and less time consuming if JRiver can read these wavs directly.
Also the multichannel flacs display as stereo in jriver's list. Can you please display the number of channels for comfort sake? If you'd like I can send you a sample of one of these files for you to examine.

Both FLAC and WAV support multi-channel in MC, if the files are made according to spec.
FLACs also show the number of channels just fine (as do WAVs)
I just tested and confirmed both.

Cool. I'll post a link here to two sample files and you can check them. They are both six channel 5.1.

Hendrik. I don't know what went wrong with my previous export, but you are absolutely correct. I stand corrected. Multichannel flacs and multichannel wavs are read correctly by JRiver.

Neat. Less work for me! :)
