Title: watching and recording with dual tuner
Post by: trevoraiston on March 12, 2015, 04:47:15 pm
On my first attempt to time record with jriver the tuner a TBS PCI-E DVB-T2 Dual TV Tuner Card High Definition Digital Free to Air Tuner (DVB-T/DVB-T2) Receiver - TBS6280 jrive 1st said device attached not working, then prompted me to switch channels.

In msoft MC it simply either records both channel's if scheduled at same time. If third channel being used you are asked which of two channel's to use.

Could I have incorrectly set up TV in someway?

It sounds like only one of the tuners has been tuned properly. Try running the scan setup again And let us know how you go.

Did you set both tuners to be DVB-T tuners?  MC needs you to tell it which type of signal you are using the tuners to receive.

You were right managed to re-tune and last night watched 1 channel while recording another. So good.

Still a lot of manual channel/EPG tweaking but getting there and learning more about jriver 'ways' of doing things as I do

So all worth while

Thanks all

Well worked yesterday, not today.  Would not allow me to watch Station A while station B being recorded?

Both tuners appear to work  selected as recording devices.

Is this a restriction in trial period, cant see any other options

No, the trial version is the full version.  There is no restriction.

When an error like this occurs, try take a look at Tools > Options > Television > Advanced > Show Status, and see what each tuner is doing.

Looks like a previous recording failed to stop.

Is your device driver up to date?

Glad it is sorted out.  If you encounter more problems, you can enable logging and try capturing a log, and then email, or by other means forward it, to me.
