Title: Volume level keeps dropping to 0
Post by: wisedan on March 13, 2015, 03:59:46 pm
Aplogies if this has been posted before. I searched...
As soon as I start MC 20, the system volume goes to 0. I can watch the slider descend. Then, no matter what I do to increase volume, it keeps reverting to 0. This affects the master volume in Windows sound mixer--I can't get anything to play unless I close MC. Any thoughts?
This seems new in 20.0.80 but not sure of that.

Check if in options, audio, volume, volume protection is not on. I learned it the hard way, instead of 80, I accidentally forgot the 8 and ended with 0.

Volume protection is not on. When I play a file in MC, volume is fine until I click on an item in the tree. Then the volume slowly fades to 0. Driving me nuts.

This same thing happens on internal volume, application volume and system volume. No matter which is selected, the volume automatically fades to 0.

options, audio, volume:
volume mode: system volume
volume protection (not checked)
Maximum volume: 80
Startup volume: -1

Problem no longer in version 20.0.84
