I'm trying to push flac to my JBL authentic 8 via dlna. I'm able to push mp3 but not FLAC. Please advice. Thanks.
-
Please download my DMR Analyser tool (the link is in my sig) and test your renderer, then send me the report.

Thanks.
Here is the report.

Ok. Thank you for the running the test.
The report actually shows two problems:
- The tool was not able to push the test (mp3) track ("Play test file result=Play failed => Time out"). This indicates that there may be a router problem or firewall issue.
- The renderer's declared supported formats does not include flac. So even if you had not had the above error, it would not be able to play flac.
To solve the latter problem you need to go to MC's Settings / Media Network / Add configure DLNA severs / Audio / Mode = Specified output format / PCM L16 no header.

Excellent tool for trouble shooting.
Makes me wonder, what about extending it to Servers as well?
Often it is as unclear what a server support as in case of the renderer.
Would make it a universal DLNA trouble shooting tool

Hi, I know this is an old thread but I just saw it while searching for a few things.
I have Flac going natively to my JBL Authentic L8 via DLNA no problem.
If there's still an issue let me know and we can compare setups.
Cheers
Scobie
