I had been using Gizmo (from playstore) for quite some time. I assume I was using the "other options will play on the server (useful for control from the couch)." I used it as a remote control with the added bonus of being able rate (5-Star) favorite tunes. This was a default setup. I downloaded app on my wife's phone and it was the exact same setup. Once you added your server, remote control worked. I don't remember having options under Mode: Choose Where to Play. There may have been.
For what seems like about a month now, the problem is there is only one choice under 'Choose Where to Play', Here. I can stream music to the phone now and it plays. This is a nice feature, but not at the cost of what I primary use Gizmo for.
Mode commands
Choose Where to Play
Here
Choose A Server To Play From
MY-SERVER
Use device as Theater View remote
I get the JRiver Icon. 'Green button'?? Get a commands menu that works, but that's all.
Should there be another option under 'Choose Where to Play' (play on Server)? How do I get it back?

When you start Gizmo, you first connect to a machine running Media Server (part of MC), then you choose where to play.
Instructions are on the wiki.

Hello Jim,
I've been using Gizmo since you first came out with the browser version. I upgraded to the app version when it first came out and was very happy using it as a remote control to my server. I have had no issue connecting to my server.
The problem is that I can no longer use Gizmo in 'Remote Control' mode. I want to use Gizmo as a Remote control controlling what's playing on the server.
Under MODE: I have only one choice under 'Choose Where to Play', Here.
Now, when I select music and go to playing now, it plays on the device (my phone). I don't want to stream to my phone, I want to control the server.
Please read original post again, Thanks.....

"Choose Where To Play" should list every zone that's on your server right below "Here". I'm doing it here at home and it's working great.

Matt,
This is the key point, "Choose Where To Play" should list every zone'.
I've been switching between music and video files frequently. I get a message that says something to the effect 'Playback could not be started, You must unlink Zones to continue'.
I went to Player-Zones-Show Zones, and yes, they do now appear in Gizmo.
Thanks Matt,
:)Happy camper, again :)
