Ripping CD's continues to be a problem, I have 1000+ left to do. Today I ripped 2 and the then MC did not recognize my CD drive, it did not appear under Drives and Devices in the left column. Yesterday I ripped several CD's and tried to listen to one of them and the playback was plagued by drop outs. I am running the lastest version. I fixed the problem by shutting off and turning back on the computer, not quite the scenario I expected when I purchased this product. Basic stuff....
Also when you rip a CD and hit the Details button (left column), the screen that comes up has a Edit Disk Information link, on that screen after you add the info it says to click OK. There is no OK button and the info is not added or changed. What is the point of this non-working link?

What version of MC are you using? 20.0.84 is at the top of this board.

I had similar problems like you describe with the drive becoming unknown (not recognized) "periodically" when the drive started to fail. Mine was an LG DVD burner, and after ripping a couple of hundred DVDs over the years, the drive finally wore out.
I don't know if this your problem or not - but you may want to see if there is a driver/firmware update available. See this forum (and other related posts at the forum) https://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?18731-Firmware-updates
