Title: Mac Mini Thunderbolt out live when USB live?
Post by: rockitdoc on March 19, 2015, 09:41:30 am
Does any one know if the Thunderbolt output on the Mac Mini is live when the sound is going out one of the USB's?

I am trying to send the same music to two amps simultaneously.  Since the USB's can only be used one at a time, I was thinking of using the Thunderbolt?

Hello S,

Please follow what Mojave said as below. It also works for two USB audio devices.

Best regards,

I use the Windows version of Media Center, but I think Zones (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Zones) work for Mac. You can setup two zones with separate outputs and then link the Zones. Whatever is played will go to both outputs simultaneously.

Wow, I didn't know Zones work that way as well! Yup, I just checked and linking also works with JRiver MC for OS X.

Definitely, I am learning new things everyday. :)
