Hauppauge is releasing the Colossus 2 (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_colossus2.html) the 2nd week of April. I assume it probably work with JRiver right out of the box. Support for the built in IR blaster would be nice.

I received a Colossus 2 yesterday. I can't remember, does the Hauppauge IR blaster now work for changing channels? I haven't seen anything since Glynor mentioned (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=91488.msg629579#msg629579) the Hauppauge SDK.
I'm installing this in someone else's computer, so wanted to get everything necessary ready. If I do need a separate blaster, what is recommended?

There has been no work with regard to Hauppauge's built-in IR blaster.

Blast! ;D

I ended up ordering a USB-UIRT for IR control.
I installed the Colossus 2 on Friday, but couldn't get it to work with JRiver as either a tuner or capture only. There was no picture or sound. The channels are unencryped and I confirmed that it worked with WinTV 8, the app that comes with it. Any suggestions?
It is in a friend's HTPC, but I can access via TeamViewer. I also just ordered another one directly from Hauppauge.

These are the same as those with HDPVR2.
We are assuming H264 video and AAC audio. You may want to check the property pages of the Capture filter and the Encoder filter and see if that assumption is correct, or to configure them to H264 and AAC.
However we should be able to detect the correct type at run time, unless they are using some unknown media types.
