Hello,
I have been using JRiver Trial Version for a week or two and it all worked fine until now.
When playing music files (FLAC, MP3, WAV etc) through JRiver some tracks makes a crackling / popping backround-noise. When the same tracks are being played through e. g. VLC or Winamp it works fine and the sound is normal and clean.
Why does JRiver add crackling noises to my music and how do I solve it?

Increase the buffer size via Device Settings.

Unfortunatley that didn't solve the issue :/

the settings in jriver are standard as when you install it. i changed the stereo amplifier to see if the noise would disappear and it did.
any clues about what the problem could be with the amp that makes noise? does jriver have any support?

It's probably an issue with your hardware but if you post the details of your setup there are a few options you can try in MC as workarounds.
One possibility is to disable WASAPI event-style: http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/WASAPI
