Title: Version 20.0.87 - stuttering
Post by: Dave59 on March 27, 2015, 12:50:11 am
Have run MC20 without a problem since I bought a license last year.  With today's update the music stutters, appears that it is maybe related to disk access by other programs, this was never an issue before this update.  Running music from memory rather than direct direct from disk, have 100 millisecond buffering as before so this is strange.  Hope that you can help me fix this as the problem makes JRiver essentially unusable for listening.

Had the same problem, but was running the hard disk that the music was playing off for another task (backup).

Suggestion: Tools/Options/Audio. Increase Settings/Prebuffering setting. See if that helps.

OK thanks - have increased from 6 to 10 seconds and see if that makes a difference - seems odd that I have only seen this with today's upgrade, I guess this could be coincidental

Try reading about the WDM driver in a thread on this board.  You can install without it to test.

Hello
I had the same problem just after the 20.0.87 update. I tried to increase the buffer to 10 or 20 seconds but it didn't help. I fixed the problem this way : set "Output encoding" = NONE (old value was "2xDSD in native format...") and restarted JRiver.

Hardware in use : PC (Win7) -> USB -> Teac UD-501 DAC

Have a nice say, Nico.
