Title: Time to Pack up the CDs.  (I want a packing l
Post by: kiwi on October 03, 2003, 08:38:12 pm
I was wondering whether there was any way to create a list of albums that are currently in MediaCenter and print them out.  Ideally, I'd like to be able to export this information as comma/tab delimited text files so that I can rearange & sort.

In particular, I'd like to be able to create this list based on file creation date.

My goal is to pack all my CDs up and store them in boxes, with a listing on the front of each box saying what CDs are in it.

I own Music Collector (http://www.collectorz.com/music/), so I could always import every CD into that, but there has to be a better way.  I figure that MediaCenter has all this information, I just need to figure out how to extract it.

edit: as a side note, I haven't played with Music Collector in a while, but it now has a very cool feature that lets you scan the CDs barcode to get the CD information. (well, then it looks it up on the net.)

See the thread http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=MediaCenter;action=display;num=1065142102 for discussion on this.  There are some other threads mentioned within that might help you.
