Title: suggestion: tag for what ever's playing
Post by: rhkrhk on March 29, 2015, 05:27:18 pm
I'm listening to some selection, and click "tag", wanting to see the metadata for what's playing

surprisingly, I get the message "no file selected"

If I want to see the data, I have to drag the file into a playlist - then it works

"Tag" should show the metadata on what ever is played.
thanks

That would break the existing "tag displays info for whatever is currently selected" operation.

You can click on the player display bar, the one at the top that has the currently playing track info showing, and select "Tag" from the menu, and the tag window will show the tags of the currently playing track. At least it used to. I never used it much, and certainly never in v20, but no harm in trying and letting us know. It doesn't follow the currently playing track, as that could cause problems for you if the track changed while you were in the middle of editing a tag.

Did not know this. Could be handy for photo tagging.
