Title: change cache location - MC says read only, but it isn't...[solved]
Post by: ferday on April 15, 2015, 03:43:23 pm
trying to get the conversion cache etc. location off the new SSD

MC keeps saying "Audio cannot be in a read only location"

the location is NOT read only...(like attrib not read only, so i know it isn't)

any ideas?

Maybe your temp folder?  Check under settings for File Location.

hmm...no luck there either.  get the same error "audio file location cannot be read only"

i have nothing read-only, i've gone through every JRiver related folder at this point (including temps and appdata folders).  i'll keep trying stuff but any suggestions are certainly welcome

i've run through diskpart and none of the drives were read only.  using attrib -r doesn't do anything at all.  permissions / ownership is good for all the folders in question (yes TAO1857, i'm way beyond the little check box LOL)

well then

everything was set properly except for CD rip/podcasts location.  once i changed that, MC fell into line.  the reason it was "read only" is because the folder that used to be there no longer exists.
