Title: Camera tag for video?
Post by: marko on April 20, 2015, 10:09:12 am
My attention has turned to a much neglected part of my library... all those videos shot on handheld cameras and mobile phones.

I would like to tag them by the camera used to shoot them. Could the Video flag be added to the Camera field?

I can force the column into the file list by adding images to the view, adding the camera column, then removing the images, which works but is cludgy, and means that the list must be in details view to edit the tag.

I am a little surprised this hasn't been mentioned before, leading me to wonder if I'm missing something?

Next build:
Changed: The camera database field is marked for videos as well as images.

Yay!  Thanks, Matt (for the record, Marko, I've asked before).

Since we're talking about this here... Any chance we're going to get rotation support any time soon?  I can't use MC very effectively for my home videos now because of that.

Didn't this take care of it?

20.0.82 (3/12/2015)

2. Changed: If an image has two rotation tags in the EXIF header, the first value is used instead of the second value (that way we work the same as Windows Explorer).

If not, maybe you should have marko ask.  ;D

I think he means rotation for videos.  I'd like that too, but Hendrik has said "It's complicated."

Yep.

Yep. Can't blame me for trying, tho!
