Title: Why doesn't file type change when converting APE to FLAC?
Post by: CountryBumkin on April 25, 2015, 01:34:07 pm
I am wanting to convert 44 audio files from APE to FLAC. I selected the files, clicked on "Convert Format", selected FLAC Encoder, and hit okay. The action window said 44 files converted. The status says "Conversion profile: original, Status: Conversion complete" - but the file type didn't change. They are all still listed as file type = ape.
What am I doing wrong?

In the Convert Format Box --> Options link do you have:
- Convert to same folder as original files, and
- Replace original file on disk and in library

Wow, your good.  :D
I didn't notice the "options" button when I started the conversion process. It was set to "Leave original file; add destination file to library". So I have two files of each now - one "ape" and one "flac". The view I was using didn't show the new file.

Thanks

Yeah bunch of great options in there, can do pretty much anything.
