Title: Streaming from remote device to server?
Post by: hedgeberg on May 10, 2015, 03:34:07 pm
Hey guys.
Forum and software newbie, working on setting up a home audio system. Got Zones, Speakers, and remote controlling all figured out. However, I think it would be really nice to be able to stream from a remote device directly through the JRiver server to whatever zone I want. Is there an easy way to do this or is it going to require a little more of an in-depth solution? (i.e. airplay server + tricky remote stuff for iOS/some sort of airplay equivalent for android?). Want to be able to do this on both iOS and android, have a lot of both in my house.
As far as I can tell Gizmo and JRemote don't have support for this baked in, so any help would be much appreciated.

MCWS - the set of web services that JRiver remote apps like Gizmo, JRemote and eos interface with - doesn't currently support streaming content from your device. It doesn't provide a way to send media from your device to have it play back in MC.
