Title: Grouping on TV Channels
Post by: Daveyravey on May 13, 2015, 09:27:15 am
Yaobing

I have just rescanned my 2 tuners and am trying to group duplicate channels across the 2 tuners but every time i select 2 channels to group nothing happens.

I highlight the 2 channels , right click and select group.... nothing happens.  Not sure if this has been broken during the changes to television stuff.

It used to work?  Am i doing something wrong?

I am running the latest build on the board!

Thanks

Dave

Your two tuners are of different tuner types (DVB-S, DVB-T for example)?

Group channel tool works for me.  I just tested.

i have just rebuilt an old library and you are correct if an exisiting library is present all the groupings work as expected.
If i reset my library and start a fresh for example rescan for dvb-t and dvb-s then try to group nothing happens as expected.

Its very strange i can send you my library if you want to see what i am doing wrong?

Did you meant to provide something with that link?  There is nothing in it.

If it is time-limit, the limit is awfully short.  Nothing in the second link either.

Got it.  Looking into it.  No sure why, I confirm grouping does not work with this library.

Did you manually edit registry?

Here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Center 20\TV Settings\Shared\

The value of "Default Channel Type Order" is empty.  It is not supposed to be empty.  It could be a bug for a new library.

Deleting "Default Channel Type Order" (delete it, not empty its value) should fix it for you.  Once it is deleted, MC will use default.

No.
All I did was reset TV settings and set up 2 profiles that I then scanned and ordered the channels ready for grouping

I got it.  There is a bug in resetting TV settings.

Fixed: Grouping TV channels would not work if TV settings were reset.
