I'm a devoted MS MediaCenter user who knows the time is nearly here for me to move on. I briefly looked at JRiver MC months ago, and at that time decided to hold off as I could not get a number of features to work. Now that I want to take a much closer look at the functionality, the previous trial version is preventing me from installing. I will not purchase this software just to do an eval. The recommendations to install on another PC are not acceptable as this is the PC with the TV tuners that I could not get to work the last time and need to test out this time.
-
What problems did you have?
-
Before: had issue with finding the TV tuner setup and EPG. I honestly did not spend enough time then and see considerable info available here.
Now: I cannot install to do a more thorough evaluation - particularly Netflix, OTA TV tuner support, EPG and so on.
-
There is no Netflix now. They shut down the API we used.
Tuner setup is improved. EPG is about the same.
What is the tuner? What country?
-
AverMedia A188 tuner.
USA
Did Netflix die on 5/13 as it did for MS MC? If so, will there be an update to MC?
-
I think it was around 6 months ago. We were not happy about it. We had put a lot of work into supporting it.
-
We've supported other AverMedia solutions. I don't know about that one.
Silicondust and Ceton Corp make networked tuner solutions that a lot of people use now. Hauppauge also.

Geoff,
Sounds like your old trial version is expired. Any new version will use that same 30 day license key. You can get the trial extended for something like 10 extra days. One of the guys from JRiver here might be able to extend your trial for longer, but I have no idea. I'm just writing this because I'm pretty sure you're dead in the water until you get a working trial license.
Good luck!
Brian.

The extension won't work after 45 days.
