Hi,
I have onkyo 5010 and PS3 as DLNA clients. I want my devices to play my music with best possible quality. What setting in JRiver should i use in order to get best quality. My library consists of flac and dsd files.
Also can somebody tell me how to stream mono on dlna, as I have mono setup in zone 2 of my onkyo.
Onkyo playback capability:
■DSD (.dsf or .DSF)
• The sampling rate of 2.8224 MHz is supported.
■FLAC (.flac or .FLAC)
FLAC is a file format for lossless audio data compression.
• Sampling rates of 8 kHz, 11.025 kHz, 12 kHz, 16 kHz,
22.05 kHz, 24 kHz, 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 64 kHz,
88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, 176.4 kHz and 192 kHz are supported.
• Quantization bit: 8 bit, 16 bit, 24 bit

In recent builds of MC, you can apply DSP over DLNA.

A few of those articles could use a once-over, but they're all basically still accurate.
The most effective means to discover what Media Center can do for you will be to read through some of that material, and use the trial to try it out with your own gear. If you have specific questions about how something works, then come back here and post a thread with targeted questions. Those kinds of questions tend to generate the best results here (where as "catch-all, help me set it up" threads like this one, often don't get many responses).

2. What does my onkyo 5010 support ASIO, DOP or DOPE for DSD bitstreaming.
3. How to stream MONO for streaming to my MONO Zone 2.

Further to this solid advice, the search function can offer up a wealth of good intel. See the screenshot that I got back from searching on PS3.
To echo glynor's advice, you'll get good engagement from the forum if you do some background research, try it out and then if you get stuck come back with something like:
"I look at this thread and that thread and tried these steps. My problem is [fill in detail] any ideas on how to get [desired result]."
I've found this kind of approach works well when I've had problems because everyone can see that I'm doing what I can to fix it myself and they can see I'm making a serious attempt at tackling the problem.

For item 2, that's one for the Onkyo support documentation. If it works with a plug & play philosophy, MC should see what it offers up as a result of (say) a self installing driver to the OS. You may need to source a standalone driver from Onkyo to get the unit talking to the OS. Over to you for that one.

I have a 5010 and 3010. They don't support ASIO iirc.

what do they support. what settings do you use for DSD.
