i have A particular tv series that I have a subscription to record and i have it marked not to record those episodes previously recorded. Most of the episodes recorded several months ago have digital noise back when I was having recording issues (i believe due to an issue in builds late last year actually). Anyway, I want to delete all of these episodes and have them recorded again when/if each is rebroadcasted. How can I get them to record again?

Make sure you are using the latest version. You can delete the ones that you want re-record. When the confirmation message box comes up, make sure you check the checkbox "Do not track the files in Removed Files database". Once you have done that, the show will be recorded again the next time it is aired.
If you already deleted a file without checking the checkbox mentioned above, you can make a smart list and display all your tracked "removed files". Delete the shows from that list.

Perfect. Thank you!

OK......when I delete in Theater view the "Do not Track" option comes up. But I cannot select multiple files/shows to delete and get this option. The only way I can figure out how to select multiple shows is in standard view & selecting TV shows under video. Is there a way to selct a bunch of files to do this?

I am not sure, but I think there is no way of selecting multiple files in Theater View.

There is. It was added back in relatively recently. Browse through until you get to the single-file item in Theater View, then instead of Playing/Watching the file, choose Select from the secondary roller bar.
This kicks you back to the previous level view, and all of the items will have checkboxes. Now you can toggle them on and off with Enter > Enter on each one.
When you do this, and choose Delete with a multi-selection active, the Do Not Track option isn't available in that delete dialog.

I stand corrected about multiple selection.
For me the Do not track option does show. But I could not delete multiple tracks. Only the first selected recording gets actually deleted.

OK, guys. Thanks for your interest in this subject. I am hesitant to do anything yet. I do know I would rather not have to delete one file at a time when there are about 150 of them. Can you give me very specific instructions on how to do this or must I simply delete each file?

It only just now dawns on me that the Do Not Track option only appears for recordings (for the obvious reason). I tested multi-selecting and deleting to look for it, but I used regular videos from my Library.

Sure.
1. Make a new Smartlist.
2. In the Smartlist Editor, click the Import/Export button.
3. Paste this in:
~d=r ~sort=[Filename]
You can, of course, use a different sorting if you want.
4. Call it Removed Files, or whatever you want.
5. Then, find the episodes in Standard View, and delete them all at once.
6. Go to your new Removed Files smartlist, and find them (they'll now be in there). Delete them there too.

Alternatively:
Go to Standard view, Television, Recordings. Select all files to be deleted, click Delete. On confirmation dialog, check the previously mentioned checkbox. and click Yes.

Haha. That's a bit easier.
