Title: Poor Pic Quality On Sony KDL55W790B

Just started to evaluate mc20 on Debian 8 Amd64 box and am having problems getting the dlna server working correctly

I have a sony KDL55W790B tv and while i am able to get it to work with mc20 the pic res apears to be only 480p
all my videos are 1080p mkv

my setup for dlna at present

Sony BD/TV
Under Video
Mode: Original
Format:  MPEG2/DVD NTSC stream

I have tried others under format but most give a black screen

anyone have some cutom setting

Check the conversion settings on the server.

Download the DMR analyzer from the link in my sig, and run the tests to see what formats your TV supports, and then post the test result here, or mail it to me.

Thank you for running the tests.

The tests  confirm that your TV can play many video formats at 480, 576 and 1080 resolutions (probably also 720) -- which is not really surprising at all.

If you run my analyser again, and look at the tab "MC Video Settings" on the left hand side you can enter what type of source video material you have, and on the right side it will tell you the optimum settings in the MC Server Settings to play that format at its best. (The tab "MC Server Settings" will also give some suggestions for other settings in MC).

under Video
Format no WMV HIGH BANDWIDTH

UNDER ADVANCED
video mine type override your pgm suggest TBD
VIDEO DLNA OVERRIDE your pgm suggest TBD

your mc video setting tab
where to enter the render information ?

Apparently you have MKV tracks, right? If so then try setting MC to Never Convert the tracks. Reason is that your TV claims to support MKV...

yeah i tried that all i get is a black screen no audio/video. looking at the server i see harddrive activity led flickering
si it is playing.
 these are all bluray ripped from makemkv. i found the sony specs for the tv and it should play
