Hi there,
John as you requested, here is a new thread!
I experience basically three problems:
1 - Video
When having mutiple windows on my screen there is always a problem with moving other program screens over MC. Also when you bo back and forth opening various screens, very often the screen is messed up. Meaning that parts of other programs ar still shown in the MC screen. This only happens with MC. No other program.
2 - 3D
Recently tried the 3D visualization. Looks very nice. But after having this at my full screen it happens. My system hangs, no respons anymore from the keyboard. Music keeps playing for a while, until the record is finished.
3 - Freezes
When having a non 3 D visualization it freezes after inserting a new CD. It continues after a few seconds. It took longer but John Thompson already improved the CD lookup which decreases the freeze time.
For me these problems are showstoppers for a 9.1 release.
I use a RADEON 9700 video Card with the latest drivers!

Are you running any other skinning software? Or any other software that does something special with the video display?
Please paste your system info from MC Help.

The only software which is running is the file manager and crazy browser. Nothing specials besides MC.

What's crazy browser?
-
Jim,
CrazyBrowser is an alternate web browser. Not sure whether it works on top of IE like MyIE2 does, here is the website.

**Edit: According to the FAQ, it "uses IE rendering engine to render the Web pages." Not sure whether it will help you troubleshoot.

MarSies,
FYI, if it turns out that CrazyBrowser is causing some sort of conflict, I use MyIE2. It works great and has never caused a problem with MC....

He thanks crow. :D
Just installed myie2 and it looks very good. Probably no crazy browser for me anymore and if it's really that good I will donate as well.
Did not expected Crazy Browser to have anything to do with the video problem. I now have my new browser running.
What else can I try. Can use the 3D visuals without any problems ?

MarSies,
Glad you like MyIE2. I really don't know anything about how the video works, I just thought I'd jump in and tell Jim what CrazyBrowser was in case he needed the info to troubleshoot. Unfortunately I don't know enough about this stuff to even know if one would effect the other.
My favorite feature about MyIE2 is the ability to clean cache and history every time the program is closed, but leave cookies intact. Plus the built-in popup killer is great.
Enjoy,
