Title: MC 9.1 and MP3 properties
Post by: GaryD9 on September 22, 2003, 03:42:36 am
Currently, several properties of music files are stored in ID3 tags and/or in MC's database, but are read-only (or semi read-only.)  Examples are the reply gain, number times played, last played, etc.  In all these cases, I can CLEAR the property, but not change it to a different non-zero value.

Is there any switch (documented or otherwise) which would allow a person to edit these properties?

An example where this might be used (and my primary reason for requesting the ability):

If a person is familier with ReplayGain, they might want to manually set the replaygain value for all songs on an album to the same value.  (MC doesn't seem to support anything other than per-track replygain.)

Thanks
Gary

I would support any move to take replay gain off the read-only list. Come to think of it, is intensity also read only? If so -- that would be another useful one to have as not read only.
