Title: View "Decelerates" When I Stop Moving the Elevator Control - How To Change?
Post by: Skeezix on July 07, 2015, 06:41:51 pm
When I stop moving the elevator at the right of my view screen the display decelerates. How do I change that so the view stops when I stop?

I've tried 2 different skins (Aruba and Z) with the same problem. I'm using Winvista.

He means the scrollbar ;)

Scroll in a view using the scrollbar and let go; You get a very slight deceleration effect when you release it.

I don't *think* this is currently configurable, but I might be wrong. Matt?

Yes, I meant "scrollbar". "Elevator" is left over from my 1980 computer days...

I updated from version 13 to version 20. I just checked version 13 and when I stop moving the vertical scrollbar the window stops. Immediately.

Also, in version 20 I have the same "coasting" effect on the scrollbars in the upper panes as well (but not in version 13).

I believe this is a deliberate improvement in MC, along with other areas where scrolling occurs, to smooth the visual effect. I don't think there is any adjustment for it.

I like it. MC scrolls so quickly when I drag the scrollbar slider on my PCs that I have to use the scroll wheel, click up or down arrows, or click a blank area of the scrollbar for fine adjustments anyway.

The deceleration effect doesn't last long. Less than half an album's worth of songs. So I don't miss the place I was aiming for. I just need a small adjustment. I can't read all the album titles when dragging the slider anyway, so I have to drag it to about the right area, then make fine adjustments.
