Title: UK Satellite options

Hey,

UK user here with a DVB-S2 card.  During configuring of the card, what satellite do I need to select?  And what EPG option?

Uk user here too. Subscribed to your thread as I would like to follow your progress, if you don't mind. I have often wondered if I could get away with ditching the cable tv box and switch to something like that, and keep the wife happy at the same time...

If you are looking for Freesat use these parameters

28.2 Eurobird 1

Band Type - Ku-Linear (Universal)
DisEqc Type - None

EPG depends on postcode but i use the Virgin EPG and then auto link in the guide

What does the 'Perform more thorough but slower scan' actually achieve?

That may or may not achieve anything :)

It increases the wait time between channels, and wait time for Windows API to complete each operation, in a hope to capture more channels.
