I just signed-up for the upgrade from MC20 to MC21 for Windows. After upgrading, I saw that I could upgrade to a Master Licence for only $6 more. However, when I try to upgrade to Master Licence, it wants to charge me the full upgrade price of MC21 again. How can I upgrade to MC21 Master License without purchaing it again? It's nto absolutely critical for me, but I have an Apple laptop and was thinking of putting MC21 on it, too.

I've got the same problem. I purchased MC 21 and simply want to upgrade from the Windows licence to a master license as a result of switching to a Mac at my office.
-
probably have to wait until Monday for a response on this one guys :)

http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Upgrade
You can purchase a Master License for $29.98.
-
So I bought MC 21 for Windows and then have to pay more than the price for a Mac just to get the Mac version?
Does that make any sense when I already paid for the Windows version?

Have you tried entering your MC21 Registration Code into this form: http://jriver.com/purchase_21_master_as_upgrade.html
I'm not sure it will make a difference, but the form may recognise that you already have MC21 and offer a different price. The $29.98 price is for upgrade from a previous version, so you are correct cross grading from MC21 for Windows to MC21 Master Licence should be less than that. Try the form.
Otherwise, the price is your punishment for switching to a Mac at work. :P ;D

Thanks for the suggestion but I already tried the upgrade to the master licence after entering my reg code and that's where I got the $29.98 price. It won't let me upgrade in Windows as it acknowledges that I already have a Windows licence and it doesn't recognize my license in the the Apple upgrade.
I'm not really interested in paying way more than I should...

A Mac license is $49.98. If you buy a Master License, it's $69.98.
I'm sorry, but if you want to use your Windows license to upgrade to a Master License, it's $29.98.

It's hard to know what you should pay. We've paid many millions of dollars to build what we sell for a modest price.
If you don't think it's fair, I can understand and I'm sorry. But we charge what it takes to run the business profitably. You could read more about that here:

Seriously? That's your response?
Your website states: "For $6 dollars more, you can upgrade to a Master License that works on all Operating Systems that MC supports: Linux, Mac, and Windows."
But that's not true. You're saying that you're not prepared to stand behind your statement but instead are completely happy to charge someone who has been a loyal customer since 2004 what amounts to double the price.
I'm not asking for special treatment. i am just asking you to stand behind your advertised pricing.
...and I thought Apple was bad.

Not a very nice reply ...
Where do you see $6? I can't find it.

here Jim, http://www.jriver.com/purchase_21_mac_as_upgrade.html (http://www.jriver.com/purchase_21_mac_as_upgrade.html)
They are misinterpreting paying 6bucks and paying for a more expensive upgrade. Makes no sense when you think of it guys IMHO otherwise you could just buy a one OS licence and paying only 6$ get a multiple OS licence which is less than the initial master license, already discounted.
-
It's on the Windows page: http://www.jriver.com/purchase_21_as_upgrade.html and it's on the Linux page as well: http://www.jriver.com/purchase_21_linux_as_upgrade.html

That's referencing the upgrade price (it is on the upgrade pages). It says $6 more, not $6 total. The referenced $6 is actually too much, though. The upgrade price is only $3 more:
The current price to upgrade for Mac or Windows is $26.98. A Master License is $29.98.
It is a bundle deal. Like basically all other bundle deals, you have to do it at the time of the original purchase.
If you don't want to do it now for $30, I understand. Just wait till the summer comes and buy the upgrade to MC22's Master License at that time and get the upgrade to MC22 for Windows and Mac then.

I appreciate it's not a nice reply but neither was the "official" response of "It's hard to know what you should pay so you should just pay us double". If I had not upgraded to MC21, it would cost me $29.98 to upgrade to a master licence.
Actually, it's not that hard to figure out what the price should be... But the powers that be understand why I would feel upset but aren't prepared to do anything.
So I guess i will simply wait until the summer but as of right now, I simply feel like if I can find a better option then I won't be back. People tend to feel like that when they perceive that they are not being treated fairly.
And I am not...

I looked for your license and could not find it. Please send me your details, with the e-mail address you used to purchase.
