The Windows 10 upgrade is available the 29th of this month to download. If I install it will it work with JRiver Media Center 20?
Thanks,

Yes. There's a thread on the Hardware board here.

Media Center 19/20/21 will work fine in Windows 10. :)

Finished upgrading to Windows 10 today. (from Windows 8.1). Now, when I go to launch Media Center, I get a msg. telling me that "Media Center was installed for a different operating system. Please reinstall Media Center". Is there a work-around for this? Do I really have to uninstall MC? I've tried changing the compatibility settings to Win. 8.1 and it still didn't work. Any other suggestions?
thx,

you don't have to uninstall just reinstall. I did that works great.

Did the same. Agree, no big deal.

I am getting the same message after win 10 upgrade. I tried the last update, same message. I have since uninstalled all but library, reinstalled, still same message. What do I need to try next?

I don't know. Clean install? ?
I'm recanting my previous statement. On one machine (out of 3) I'm getting that message consistently - just that one though. I've done multiple installs and uninstall/reinstalls.
In all cases, I've upgraded to Win10. Haven't done a clean install yet. This is formulating my plan for the 1st candidate.

Hmmm. Wonder if it is the machine settings. Astromo, I'm going to send you a PM.

Copy that. Got it. Give me a few hours. I'll be offline for at least 3 or so.

Just checking to see if any fix for 'different operating system' message has been found. If not, will probably just bag it for win 10. I do have JR running on my mediaserver, whms 2011, so not all lost.

Just re-install it after upgrading, thats all that is required.
I would never recommend any sort of OS update though, so many things that can possibly go wrong!

Well, after the upgrade to win 10, JR wouldn't open. Downloaded latest off the forum, got that message again. Have deleted and reinstalled a couple times, same message. Will probably try the repair function on win 10 as last resort, have to reinstall all my apps.

Make sure neither the installer nor MC run in any sort of compatibility mode, that could possibly also trigger it I guess.

I was getting the different OS message even though MC was working fine.
In my case, I uninstalled all versions of MC (after backing up my library, of course), rebooted to make sure the registry was properly flushed out and then reinstalled MC.
The nag message has disappeared for me. Plus thanks to glynor for the tip.

JR would never open, just the boxed message. Anyways, had to reinstall win 10 to get it to open.
