Title: YADB REQ: Import only Selected Fields.

First..  Now That Summer is over I thought I would give version 952 a try, updated from 180.  WOW (I did NOT have to rebuild my media Library)..GREAT JOB.  

After reading about all the tagging issues, I was impressed with the taging window (Once I saw the Leave on top option)

Now..  I know you are ready for a release, but I think it would be great to allow only  the fields I select to be updated for TRACK lookups from YADB.  actually all I want is to not update the album name.

it would be nice if i could use the track lookup in the SDK

Keystonecop - temp work around.

Create a db only field called:  tmpAlbum

Use the copy fields command - copy all the album names to tmpAlbum.

Do YADB lookup on all your songs.
Copy tmpAlbum back to Album.
Delete tmpAlbum.

Bit of a pain in the ass I know but it'd work.



I agree though, for me that's one of the biggest things that put's me of YADB - it's all or nothing, we cant select what we want to update.

If we could chose what to update, see each field before we applied it, etc then I think it'd be a pretty powerful tool to complete with mm's Super Tagging which seems to be pretty much 'the standard'

Nila -  Thanks  (I also did a tmp name) now I can see if it is close to what I have.  Must be that everyone else is doing this also. YADB is slow this morning.
