Title: IMDb
Post by: Blaine78 on July 31, 2015, 05:32:38 pm
Have purchased JRiver v20/v21 licence recently, but am sticking with v19.
Having problems with IMDb not finding movie information. Is there a fix I can do myself, script to edit to get this feature working again in v19?

Thanks

Any data?  Or just cover art.  IMDB changed what they provide.

Thanks for the reply,

When executing the 'Get movie and tv info', no coverart or info are found, Just comes up with 'No information available from the selected result' Only wikipedia seems to be the one offering info and cover art. Has been like this for few weeks or more, I'm guessing.

Is this possible to fix myself, edit a script or something in V19? As stated above, I have purchased V20/V21, but am sticking with V19.

I just went to test this for you - to see if "Get Movies/TV" was broken. I picked a random movie and selected Get Movie/TV data - and I am getting a lot of metadata choices from TMDb.

But your having problems with IMDb?  Is this a typo, or do you want/need data from IMDb?

Do you get anything from TMDb? What is the name of the movie your looking up? - I'll try it a lookup on my system.

CountryBumkin, by this Wiki entry - http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Automatic_Metadata_Lookup (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Automatic_Metadata_Lookup) - you're on the money. IMDB is not mentioned. There is an Interact thread mentioned in the Wiki entry. Investigation there may turn up further intel.

IMDb should generally be supported for Movies (but not TV Series). Quality of their data varies, but it should still work.
If it works in MC20 but is broken in MC19 for some reason, I'm afraid there is nothing you can do to fix it.

I sorry, this is for TMDb. Any movie i look up comes up with no results. it used to work, but as of few weeks, maybe months, it doesn't. Wikipedia works ok.

Are you in USA?  I just tried again and it works for me. Try "Mission Impossible (2015)" or "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" or "Mission Impossible Rogue Nation". All of these title variations give me the same results.

For testing just open the "Get Movie & TV Info" search feature and type the name above in the search window. Anything come up?

I don't see any entries from IMDb. TMDb has good description and a good cover art image, the Rotten Tomatoes has different description and a terrible image, Wikipedia has a different image (poster art) and it's metadata is more similar to Rotten Tomatoes. So TMDb is the best choice.

What is compelling you to stay with 19 if you already own 20/21 ?

Brian.

Opps. I thought OP couldn't get it to work in 20 so he was going back to 19. Must be some other reason OP want to go back to 19.

Thanks all for your help, guess it's something I can't fix myself, like edit a script.
