Title: Movie Audio Order?
Post by: Nyteowls on August 05, 2015, 05:08:45 pm
-Handbrake x264 wiki was a little vague, but it showed to have your first movie audio stream as 2/2.1 channel then the second audio stream as 5.1 channel.

-Concerning .mp4s, is this the correct ordering for a HT receiver?  I'm guessing the receiver will detected the highest channel audio and play that?

-Concerning .mp4s, how does JRiver handle a file like this?  If say I'm on my phone and the 5.1 channel audio was the first stream will it try to transcode it?  Vice versa if I'm on my TV with JRiver and I have the 2/2.1 channel stream first will it just play that and not look to detect the 5.1 audio stream?

-Now when it comes to .mkv, they have "Determine automatically, yes, and no" options for the default track flag, so does JRiver follow this or have its own detection aka analyze -> play/transcode the biggest audio file?

Thanks for the help.

A number of similar items in your query that I think can mostly be addressed by the same advice.

MC works with the default/forced audio stream muxed in with the video. If there's more than 1 audio steam you can select the non-default via the context menu during playback. Once you've selected the 2nd audio stream, MC will remember your selection for the next time you play that file.

Same goes for subtitles.

Haven't tested this for forced streams.
